There is only God. Simple words, but they transform our perception of life. Instead of seeing ourselves – and everyone else – as separate beings randomly moving around and interacting, we realize that we are each a part of God interacting with the other parts of God. Each relationship is ultimately a relationship of Spirit with Itself. To know this is to live in awe and wonder!
A well-known quote from A Course in Miracles states: “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all of the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
When we start from the basic principles that all is God and God is Love, then all is Love. Because we are wholly part of the One, we are already created of Love and by Love. We are an expression of Divine Love as is every person, every creature, and everything in the Universe.
If we don’t feel loved, it is because we are looking for love outside of ourselves rather than within ourselves. We must construct mental and emotional barriers to block our perception of the Divine Love that is already within us. Any sense of separation from Love and from God is an illusion created by those barriers.
To remove those barriers, we could wage a mighty battle, but that would only strengthen the barriers and create further separation. Alternatively, compassionately embracing the fear that led us to build up those “protective barriers” in the first place, would unleash the power of Divine Love to heal our wounds, fears and unfilled desires. As we let Love dissolve the illusion of separation, the full wonder of Divine Love is revealed as the Truth of our being. We are wholly loved, just as we are, a beloved creation of the Divine.
Looking out from this consciousness of Divine Love, we can open our hearts to love the whole world and all people without fear, regardless of the external appearances. They, too, are wholly part of God, the One and Only.
Love and light,
Rev. Pam
