It’s 2023 – Happy New Year! It’s a time full of Infinite Possibilities. We get to choose whether
we continue in the patterns we set in 2022 or, instead, venture out in a new direction. But
which direction? Do we go someplace new just to have new experiences? That new
experience could be good or bad! Do we look for a way to stand out and be different?
Standing out may require lots of effort and putting on a mask so we look like the person we
think everyone will admire and love. What direction allows us to express who we truly are –
our highest and best Self?
This whole process of opening to new beginnings is the easiest and most powerful if we look
within and discover what Ernest Holmes calls, “a hidden river within each one of us, coming
from an invisible but inexhaustible source. It is the River of Life itself, and it flows through
everyone.” All that we are is Infinite Spirit flowing through and as each one of us in a unique
way. Just as each human has a unique fingerprint, we each are a “unique manifestation of the
Living Spirit.” To discover a new direction, according to Holmes, “What we have to do is to
surrender what we seem to be to what we really are and identifying ourselves with this Divine
Source of our being, learning to let it direct us.*” Rather than stressing or straining, we can
move forward with ease, clarity and calm assurance.
This process of looking inward to our Source for inspiration, direction and energy applies
whether we are contemplating our individual lives or the path forward for an organization like
the Center for Spiritual Living Tahoe-Truckee. This month our Center is preparing for a group
visioning process on January 15, 2023. We are inviting members of our congregation and
others interested in the future of our spiritual community to come together as One to listen to
Spirit’s guidance. Centered in Divine Love, Peace and Joy, we opening to a new beginning as a
thriving Spiritual Center serving the Tahoe-Truckee community.
What is your new direction, your new beginning for the New Year?
Love and light,
Rev. Pam
