The celebration of Easter provides an opportunity for all of us to rise above our past experiences and to choose to live our lives from a higher level of consciousness, which we call the Christ Consciousness.
In The Science of Mind textbook, Ernest Holmes wrote, “We all have the ability to transcend previous experiences and rise triumphant above them; but we shall never triumph over them while we persist in going through the old mental reactions.” Our “old mental reactions” and beliefs, including the accumulated collective beliefs of humankind, are like a tomb that has limited our life experiences.
The path to transcend those limiting beliefs has three basic steps:
- REVEAL: By listening to the voice of Spirit within our hearts, we can uncover and reveal the inner Truth and Light of who we truly are: beloved creations of God. We each are a unique individualization of the One Life that is God.
- RELEASE: Once we see the layers of judgment, false beliefs, resentment and anger that are often held in place by blame, shame and guilt, we must release them. Only then can we see the Inner Truth and Light in ourselves and others.
- RISE UP: A tomb built from the false beliefs and limitations we have accepted as true has held us back. Once that tomb is opened, we are called to rise up and transcend our previous experiences.
We are called to reveal the Truth, release the blocks that have kept us entombed, and then rise up to express the Higher Possibilities for our lives. As we allow the Infinite Invisible to create through us and as us, we can experience Heaven on earth, right here and right now. Should we bump into any new stones of fear, doubt, or victim thinking that are block our path, we turn to our spiritual practice: Reveal, Release, Rise and Repeat as needed. This is the promise of Easter and the inner gift of spiritual transformation. Rise up and live life to its fullest!
